With only his phone number as a guide, an eleven-year-old boy traveled 600 miles from Ukraine to Slovakia

Since the battle between Ukraine and Russia started on February 24, 2022, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates that three million individuals have fled their home country. A significant portion of the world has been plagued by terror, uncertainty, and instability, uprooting people and destroying their lives. We have, however, been made to believe that everything has a bright side.

An 11-year-old Ukrainian made headlines for his 600-mile trek from Ukraine to Slovakia, which he ended like a true hero, smiling through one of the most challenging moments of his life. It took Hassan less than two months to walk from Ukraine to Slovakia. Since his family remained behind, he had no idea what would happen to them. Despite this, we now have concrete evidence that the family has reunited! Let’s get this story started, shall we?

The 11-year-old Hassan left Ukraine with a passport and a phone number written on his palm. His mother and brothers have now been reunited.

At the time, the family lived in Zaporizhzhia, which was very close to the nuclear power complex that Russian soldiers had just recently attacked. Yulia Pisetskaya, the boy’s mother, was forced to put her son on a train to Slovakia to send him to a safe place. She had no other alternative. She had remained behind to provide medical attention to her unwell mother. In addition to their pet dog, both of them had made it back to their family after evading the perils of the war.

In Slovakia, the family’s canine companion can now relax knowing that everyone in the family is protected.

The Slovakian Minister of the Interior, Roman Mikulec, praised the young man for his bravery, saying he had “great determination, courage, and fearlessness, which often even adults lack.” On the other hand, the young man encountered a few challenges along the way.

“The kids and the people were sitting in the hall, and everyone was talking in other languages, and he didn’t understand,” his sister translated for Good Morning Britain. She stated that with at least 300 people crowded into one compartment, Hassan found the train experience to be horrifying. According to Good Morning Britain, Hassan found the train ride unsettling because it was so crowded. Despite this, he managed to keep his worries to a minimum and kept his attention on the task rather than allowing them to divert him.

Volunteers at the border did everything in their power to help him, and they eventually contacted his brother by using the phone number he had written on his hand.

Volunteers at the Slovakian border came upon the young boy, provided him with food and shelter, and then used the phone number that the boy had scribbled on his hand to get in touch with his brother, who lived in Slovakia.

The Slovakian Ministry of the Interior stated on Facebook that the young boy “captured everyone’s hearts with his smile, boldness, and resolve, worthy of a true hero.” The Slovakian Ministry of the Interior stated on Facebook that the boy had “captured everyone’s hearts with his smile, boldness, and resolve, worthy of a true hero.” The child was quickly reunited with his siblings in Slovakia, who were relieved to have their younger brother with them but worried about his mother. The boy was also immediately reunited with his mother.

They recalled thinking their mother had been abandoned by everyone close to her simultaneously and that “it was more difficult for her than for us.” When we think of our mother, it makes us realize how much we miss her.

The boy’s mother and his grandmother decided to take a risk and escape while they still had the opportunity to do so.

“I cannot thank you enough for your help in preventing the death of my child.” The mother of the youngster had already conveyed her appreciation to the members of the Slovak customs service and the volunteers. They looked after her son and helped him cross the border. They could not flee the area at this time, despite the imminent threat.

According to information provided by Policia Slovenskej Republiky, the possibility of Russian bombardment inspired the mother to at least attempt to evacuate with the grandmother. They were able to bring their tiny dog with them. After a long journey on the evacuation train, they arrived in Slovakia without incident.

The refugees boarded a train after enduring a grueling journey. Slovakia welcomed them with kindness when they arrived.

She commented to The Sun that the journey on the train was quite unpleasant. There were hundreds of people crammed into a single truck. But we had to flee to bring our family back together. She continued to express her gratitude to every person from the depths of her being. Although they had to start again after losing everything, she chose to look on the bright side. She enjoyed spending time with her family again.

It would appear that the authorities took good care of them, as evidenced by the fact that they registered them at the Slovakian border and transported them.

The boy finally meets his grandmother and his mother after what seems like an endless and tense wait.

The mom and her children have been brought back together again, as stated on the official Facebook page of the Slovak Republic.

The film’s title emphasizes that this is not the first time they have had to flee a war: “Years ago, they were driven to leave Syria suddenly.” Their trip has not been simple. Sadly, the father did not survive the experience. After spending several years overseas, they returned to Ukraine to be with their mother. After a while, they were once again compelled to flee.

They can count their blessings that the fight did not separate anyone from them this time. The fact that they are together is the only thing that matters.

When a mother can finally embrace and kiss her children, the joy on that mother’s face is impressive.

We are thrilled that we did not have to abandon anyone, especially considering how much the young dog enjoys receiving attention from his human siblings.

The young canine appeared to enjoy a fabulous time after reuniting with his younger playmates. A large number of people have voiced concerns regarding taking pets on trips. Some people decide to stay behind so that they may take care of their animal friends.

On the other side, the European Commission has urged member states to grant entry without a separate application to Ukrainian people who are fleeing the crisis with their dogs. The proposal was made due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Ruud Tombrock, Humane Society International’s European branch executive director, stated that “people should not be required to risk their safety in order to prevent their animals from being abandoned.” [citation needed] (HSI).

The question now is, what does the future hold for the two of us? It is difficult to say at this time, but one thing can be said with absolute certainty: this family will not be broken up.

So, what exactly does the future hold for this family? According to the Slovakian Police, the family’s eldest brother is barely 20 years old. Yet, he is responsible for managing all of the family’s paperwork and locating schools and housing for them. Hassan stated on Good Morning Britain that he is not concerned about the future and is content to be with his family where they are protected. According to his sister, “He doesn’t know about the situation in Ukraine; therefore, he has no idea what the future holds.” No one else does it that I’m aware of.

Countries on Ukraine’s periphery have frequently voiced their solidarity with anyone who has fled the country.

As the violence in Ukraine continues to worsen, the Slovakian Ministry of the Interior has assured anyone evacuating the country that “they are ready to aid here in Slovakia.” If a person applies for temporary protection, they will be allowed to receive safety and medical treatment, social security, food, shelter, education, and career opportunities.

Additionally, people from other nations have been exceptionally kind and helpful. An article published on Bored Panda described how Polish residents organized a surprise birthday party for a Ukrainian refugee who was seven years old and provided baby carriages to Ukrainian mothers who were arriving in Poland by train. Even what might seem like a trivial act of kindness can significantly impact the lives of those struggling the most.

We are relieved to learn that at least one family will be successful in their search for happiness.

The fact that at-least one of these families came out on top is extremely wonderful when so many families are wondering if they will ever see each other again. Millions of people fleeing in search of safety, hundreds of casualties have been reported, and the duration of the conflict is unknown. While protecting ourselves and our neighbors, we must also assist them. Here are a few resources and information that might be helpful to Ukraine.
