Outdoor cats, strays, and cats no one owns are collectively called “community cats.” Cats can be friendly, wild, old, young, healthy, sick, altered, unchanged, or any combination of these characteristics. They might get looked after, but it’s also possible they won’t. Buddy is one of these cats. Unfortunately, it did not find its permanent home until two ferocious dogs assaulted it. Since then, it has been adopted.
People all across the world were appalled by what had happened to Buddy, the stray black cat, and began donating money in the hopes of being able to save him. Buddy’s story was spread over the internet. Despite this, Buddy was unwilling to give up on his life so quickly, and he did everything he could to stay alive. Meet Buddy, the cat who narrowly avoided being killed in a brutal attack by two canines.
Before two teens walking their dogs approached the cat as it was sitting on a porch and let their dogs off the leash, allowing them to attack Buddy, the cat had been there.
As he fought for his life, Buddy the cat had to be admitted to the animal hospital.
Donations totalling over 130 thousand dollars were given to the Pennsylvania SPCA.
Katie Venanzi, an emergency veterinarian, had high hopes that the cat would pull out from the attack, even though the odds didn’t look good.
While Venanzi was tending to his various wounds, she observed the cat growling at BluePearl Pet Hospital staff members and slapping his tail on the table.
After all of that, on March 22nd, Buddy the cat started the process of getting better, and he is now completely recovered.
The cat is still working through the psychological trauma he experienced. Still, his new owners are doing everything they can to assist him.
The two boys are still considered juveniles and have been accused of and charged with various crimes, including aggravated animal mistreatment and animal fighting.
Before the incident, Buddy was a stray cat; however, after recovering from his injuries, Venanzi, the veterinarian who treated him, decided to give him a forever home.
Dave, Venanzi’s husband, was inspired to get a cat when he observed how devotedly his wife had grown to their previous pet, Buddy.
At the moment, Buddy is content in his new forever home, where he is joined by his new brother Teddy, and he likes their company.
