Tofu, a shelter dog I adopted, is frequently too terrified to walk, so I carry her everywhere.

Adopting Tofu from Romania was a decision that changed my life in many ways. When I saw the photos of the kill shelter where she was being held, I knew I had to do something to help her. Despite the challenges of bringing a traumatized rescue dog into our home, I was determined to give Tofu the best life possible.

At first, it was difficult to adjust to Tofu’s unique needs. She was extremely scared and sensitive, and often refused to go on long walks with our border collie Se. But as time went on, we learned to adapt and find ways to make Tofu feel safe and comfortable. We took her on shorter walks, and even started carrying her on our hikes to give her the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors without feeling overwhelmed.

Over the years, Tofu has grown and thrived in our care. She may still be a bit scared and lazy, but she has come a long way from the traumatized rescue dog we first met. She loves sleeping on our bed and lounging on the couch, and she has even grown to enjoy our adventures to the beach and other open spaces.

In many ways, Tofu has taught me the importance of patience and adaptability. She has also inspired me to pursue my passion for photography, as I love capturing the funny and adorable moments of her and Se on our travels. Through my photography, I hope to share the beauty of the world and the joy that animals bring to our lives.

Adopting Tofu was not always easy, but it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am so grateful to have her in our family, and I am determined to continue giving her the best life possible.
